About the role
Poolside is hiring a Member of Engineering to lead its Data Platform team, fully remote across Europe and North America (monthly Paris meetups, fully reimbursed).
Poolside is a US-founded AGI lab building agentic coding systems and frontier models for software development. The Data Platform team enables Applied Research to build large datasets for pre-training and post-training, plus run end-to-end experiments from data retrieval to evaluation and benchmarking at multi-PB scale.
You grow and manage the Data Platform team, collaborate with Applied Research and Engineering on the technical roadmap, and stay hands-on with high-throughput low-latency pipelines. You build APIs for internal data query and operate Kubernetes-based critical infrastructure.
Required: people-management + tech-leadership track record, strong Python plus one systems language (Go, C, C++, Rust, or Scala), production experience with extreme-scale (100s TB to multi-PB) distributed systems, Kubernetes-critical-infra delivery. Spark preferred.
