Snowflake is hiring a Senior AI Engineer for its Cortex Code team, a US based remote role. Snowflake is the AI Data Cloud, and Cortex Code is its product for building coding agents that work directly with data.
You own the full AI engineering lifecycle on Cortex Code: design, prompt and tool engineering, evals, deployment, measurement, and optimization. The day to day is agentic workflows, coding harnesses, and evaluation pipelines, plus enterprise grade context engineering like function calling, tool schemas, guardrails, agent teams, and verification and repair. A big part of the job is designing evals and hill climbing on golden sets, rubrics, and metrics, then turning customer problems into experiments alongside product and infra. The core stack is Python, TypeScript, and Go.
What stands out is the data angle. This is not generic agent work, it is coding agents built for data tasks, so a background in dbt, Airflow, retrieval, or semantic layers is genuinely useful here.
