Cohere is hiring a Senior Research Scientist for Cohere Labs, remote-flexible (offices in Toronto, NY, SF, London, Paris with co-working stipend).
Cohere Labs is the research arm pushing frontier ML challenges and opening new pathways for discovery. The team creates open research spaces connecting diverse communities and expands access to research training with fresh voices worldwide.
You drive an independent, high-impact research agenda on frontier AI topics. You ask ambitious questions, explore the unknown, publish openly. Bonus weight on work engaging with the societal implications of ML. You also mentor new researchers and open doors for broader participation.
Required: PhD or equivalent research experience, strong publication record in ML/AI/statistics, expertise in efficiency/optimization/reasoning/multimodality/agentic systems/human-AI collaboration. Solid ML and NLP fundamentals.
