About the role
Grafana Labs is hiring a Staff AI Engineer for its Grafana AI/ML team, fully remote within US time zones. Grafana Labs builds the open observability cloud used by 35 million users and 7,000+ customers including Anthropic, NVIDIA, and Microsoft.
The Grafana AI teams turn complex observability data into AI-driven features that reduce toil and surface meaningful signals. At staff level you would take ownership of high-impact AI features that help users detect, triage, and resolve incidents, shipping and evolving LLM- and agent-powered workflows across the observability stack.
This is a high-autonomy, ship-fast environment: prototype, validate with real users, scale what works. They want strong production engineering, hands-on LLM and prompt-engineering experience, and cloud-native exposure (AWS, GCP, Azure). Agent frameworks, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and fine-tuning are bonus points.
What stands out: a staff-level seat shaping AI across a category-defining observability platform, with a company-funded frontier-model tooling budget. Base pay is 175k to 220k USD.
