About the role
Field Engineer on Canonical's global MLOps team: a customer-facing solutions architect role, not a software development one. You design ML architectures for enterprise customers running Ubuntu + Kubeflow + MLFlow + Feast on hybrid cloud, and own the end-to-end story from presales through architecture, deployment, and handoff.
The team takes on hard ones: LLMs across multi-cluster Kubernetes with GPU sharing, 10M-events/sec financial streams, video inference at scale. Heavy Python, AWS/Azure/GCP, Linux, Kubernetes. Travel ~30%.
Rare MLOps role where the stack you sell IS the open-source stack you help build. Italy works (EMEA bucket).
