About the role
Pennylane is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Self Service Analytics team, remote across Europe (Italy fits the CET-aligned policy).
Pennylane is a French fintech (Sequoia-backed, EUR 400M raised, 1000+ employees) building the financial OS for SMEs and accounting firms. 900,000+ SMEs and 6,000+ accounting firms use it. The Data department is 50+ people, the data engineering community is 20+, and you join the Self Service Analytics team.
You translate complex business requirements into scalable data models and services, model data as a product across a medallion architecture in the data lake, build and maintain the data analytics platform (ingestion, validation, data-as-production), contribute to data governance and the data catalogue, and design ETL pipelines, batch processing, and data warehousing.
Required: senior data engineering experience, dbt, SQL, data modeling fluency.
What stands out: data is treated as a production asset with explicit leadership buy-in. Pennylane is the French fintech still genuinely scaling, expanding from France into the EU.
